Director, Owner, & Lead Artist.
For more than 20 years, I’ve built my career around two things I love deeply: beauty and people. Born and raised in Waukesha, I studied Business with the dream of becoming my own boss — and with a natural eye for makeup, it didn’t take long to discover where I was meant to be.
My journey began in 1997 with Clinique and grew into an incredible career working with iconic brands like Lancôme, Clarins, Estée Lauder, M.A.C., and Bobbi Brown. I’m certified in Airbrushing, Brow Lamination, and Creative Makeup Artistry, and I’ve had the privilege of bringing beauty to everything from destination weddings to editorial shoots. My work has been featured in Premier Bride, Wisconsin Bride Magazine, The Knot, WeddingWire, Wed Plan and most recently, I’m honored that our team is the official hair and makeup partner for the 57th, 58th and soon the 59th Annual Wonderful World of Weddings Fashion Show.
But the heart of my business isn’t the makeup - it’s the people.
It’s the brides who trust us.
It’s the families we meet.
It’s the mornings we get to be part of.
As Melissa Ann Artistry + Co. grew, I made a promise:
We would never become an agency that assigns weddings to whoever is available.
Instead, I built a true team - the same 27 artists I’ve worked with for years. I personally oversee, train, and support every artist who represents our company. We don’t rotate through freelancers, we don’t subcontract, and we don’t overbook. When you work with us, you’re working with a team that knows each other, trusts each other, and shows up with the same standard of excellence every single time.
When I’m not behind the brush, I’m helping families buy and sell homes as a licensed real estate professional, cheering on my kids at the soccer fields, spending time with my family, or taking long walks with our sweet pups.

Melissa spent over 18 years working as a solo makeup artist under Melissa Ann Makeup Artistry before expanding her vision in 2019. Today, Melissa Ann Artistry + Co., LLC is home to a curated team of 27 highly trained, long‑term artists who specialize in both hair and makeup. Our team is intentionally built - not assembled on demand - which allows us to serve weddings of every size with consistency, professionalism, and an elevated beauty experience.
Melissa personally oversees and coordinates every event. While she does her best to accommodate brides who request her, our company now serves more than 300 weddings each year, making it impossible for her to be at every single one. Instead, she ensures that every bride receives the same level of care, communication, and artistry by hand‑selecting the artists who represent our brand. These moments are intimate and meaningful, and Melissa believes every client should feel as special as the occasion they’re celebrating.
What makes our team different is simple: we are not an agency that assigns weddings to whoever is available. We do not subcontract. We do not rotate through freelancers. We do not pull from a random roster. Every artist on our team is someone Melissa has personally trained with, worked alongside, and trusted for years.
